Ecs charges refund?

I have complain  bank law garden branch & also visited regarding ecs charges refund I have saving account in your bank in law garden branch since last 17 years, my ecs bounced on 28th feb 2016 of rs 5253/- (16 lic policy premium), against the same ecs return charge taken rs. 12187/- from bank.
Request to refund amount as earliest... As the same is too large amount Awaiting good support

Dear Jalpesh,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

Indeed I am puzzled if your claim of recovery of Rs.12187/- towards ECS return charges can be correct. Have your got your passbook updated or obtained a statement of account to satisfy yourself on exact account  has the Bank debited Rs.12187/- in your account.

You have stated that you visited the branch. I cannot guess what could have been the discussion or the clarification provided by your branch. On the face of it, debit of Rs.12187/- towards ECS return charges (regardless of the value of the ECS amount) seem unjustified. In this connection, I suggest you to write to Nodal Officer of the Bank narrating the actual facts and the outcome of the discussions you had with the branch officials while seeking redressal.  Contact details of Nodal Officer can be found on the bank's website.

I am not suggesting any escalations at this stage as I am sure if there is proper case, the Nodal Officer would intervene and get the issue sorted out to your satisfaction.
