MAB charge My Account?

Now the victim is me? Hi, This is Kishore Moni Bora from Assam. My acc number is xxxxxxxxxx4912, Bank should send a notice for any deduction or any monetary issue. My acc has beeen charged with Rs 513 as MAB charge. I don't have any mail informing about this MAB charges. I have no information from bank No call, no mail and no msg. Now that I understand that bank has not informed me about change of balance system, hence any deduction from account for the same is totally wrong and if charges deducted are not credited back to my account then I will be left with no other option but to take this matter to higher authorities and Banking Ombudsman as this is CLEAR VIOLATION of Rule 8(1)(k) i.e. "levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer" of The Banking Ombudsman Scheme 2006. As a customer I need proper explaination as well as my money within a limited time or else the complaint will be raised to Banking Ombudsman. Thanks

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any query / complaint / grievance in respect of financial services.  This site does not belong to any Bank or a Regulator, which may please be noted.

If you are not informed by the Bank about levying of non-maintenance charges of Quarterly/Monthly average balance in your account or subsequent hike of the same, the Bank is certainly not in order in deducting the charges from your account.  Do complain to your bank branch for reversal of the charges and if no positive response is forthcoming, please take it up further, as per the process stated here under.

1.    Go to your Bank’s website and search for grievance redressal (or similar name) button and submit your complaint online.

2.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

3.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days from the Nodal officer, lodge your complaint with the Principal Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

4.     If you are still not satisfied with the reply / do not receive reply from the Principal Nodal officer within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Banking Ombudsman (either through letter or email)
