Cheque book charges?

This is regarding cheque book charges being collected bank for issuing CTS cheque book in lieu of old cheque book for the savings bank holders. No other bank had collected like this from the public. CTS Cheque Book should be given free in place of old cheque book. Already they are charging for regular cheque books.

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed and managed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

You are right in stating that the bank should not charge for the CTS cheque book, in lieu of your old one.  However, if it is a 2nd cheque book, they would charge.  Pl check your account statement and if so far you are in receipt of only one / first CTS cheque book, approach home branch manager with a written request for reversal of the charges.  They would refund the charges.
