Dear GKUBI

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed and managed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

I assume that you would have handed over a written complaint to the home branch regarding the disputed ATM cash withdrawal.  If you are not happy and satisfied with the response of the branch, then you can take it up with BO, after expiry of 1 month (30 days) from the date of your complaint.  However, it is advisable to make sure for yourself that you have not left the ATM premises in a hurry, before the ATM could dispense the cash.  If ATM dispensed the cash, post your departure from the ATM, then someone else might have taken away the same, which would be your folly and can't claim the money from the bank.  You have to be doubly sure, because bank stated that the transaction was successful.  However, if you are confident of defending, you may go ahead and complain to the BO.  For address of the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Area of Operation (jurisdiction) and the procedure for lodging complaint, you may access the website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/.
