I'd booked a few D D's through bank online (promise to be delivered in 4-5 working days) which was couriered via first flight service. After more than a week when I check the status of the same from bank customer care I hear that it has been couriered and when I check with courier customer care they say it has been sent back to Mumbai from Bangalore and not even telling the reason. After 3 days of making calls to bank and first flight I end up with no info on my amount and the DD. I ask them to cancel it and fwd my call to concerned person so that I can escalate, they put me on hold for more than 15 minutes. When I call first flight couple of times, I'm in queue for more than 5 minutes every time and yet no executive attends it. Now its the crunch situation for me as my money is stuck with them. nobody is giving any idea where is it.
It would be the worst idea to book DD online through bank and struggle to get back my own money.

Regards,
Helpless customer

Dear.Customer,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any query / complaint / grievance in respect of financial services.  This site does not belong to any Bank or a Regulator, which may please be noted.

Now a days, in the era of at par cheque books, DDs are not required by customers except in case of a few Government departments/Institutions. It is presumed that you must have put your request online for such type of DDs. Further, it is not clear that you are booking DDs online from Bangalore, which are issued at Mumbai and couriered at your Bangalore address. Had you approached the nearest branch of the Bank for DD issuance that would have delivered on the same day.

You may escalate the issue of non-delivery of DDs to the nodal officer - grievances whose coordinates (contact) would be available on the Bank's website. As a last resort, if your complaint is not resolved within a reasonable period of time, you may approach Banking Ombudsman for resolution of the complain.

Regards

Deepak
