Amount was debited ; unable to book the ticket; did not get the refund?

I booked the tatkal ticket from chennai to surat on 5th nov, 2015 via irctc. com ; It shows payment was successful and Rs.2162 was debited from my account. But when payment process redirects me to IRCTC website, it shows that "we are unable to process your request; please try later". Hence, Ticket did not get booked though the payment was successful. Since the ticket could not be booked, i am supposed to get my money back from bank

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any query / complaint / grievance in respect of financial services.  This site does not belong to any Bank or a Regulator, which may please be noted.

If your Tatkal ticket is not booked and funds got debited to your account, please write to your Bank to find out whether funds are lying with the Bank. If not, you will have to wait for some time, the credit will come from IRCTC in 4-5 working days.
