Hi Mantoo,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

Your complaint against the bank appears to be misplaced. You would have received SMS alerts for each and every transaction. You should have been wiser not to initiate the second transaction if the first transaction was successful as per the message received.

It would not be in the purview of the bank to obtain refund from the UP Govt authority. You may seek a letter from your bank detailing the three successive successful transactions to prove that you made three payments instead of one. Enclosing a copy of the letter, you can write to the authority concerned for processing refund of the excess amount paid by you.

Regards
