Unauthorized claim for personal loan amount?

Hi team, This is regards to the call which i am getting from the recovery agency from a 3rd party of  bank regarding a personal loan. I've been getting these calls for a quiet a long time and whenever i've asked them to send me an email from bank official mail id they are not. Today it went to an extent where they are contacting me on my office land line and also contacted by husband and colleague about this loan. My husband collected the loan details from him and are as below
Loan amount: 30, 000/- Loan date: 27-sep-2005 all the details which they are providing are matching except for my dob. I called bank customer care directly but they are asking me to visit the branch to submit my documents. Now i'm even more scared as someone has forged these documents to take the loan, now submitting the document to bank again is becoming a concern to me. Just to bring it to your notice that  bank cannot and against the law to take personal information about an individual without their concern. I hope someone looks into the matter and writes back with the details.

Hi Archana,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

As regards your grievance, your bank's agents clearly appear to have gone overboard. The approach is against the guidelines of  banks and RBI in general. For the acts of the agent the Principal (Bank) has to take ownership. In this regard, I suggest you to bring your negative experiences in detail to notice of the Nodal Officer of your bank seeking redressal. Contact details of your bank's nodal officer can be found on the bank's website. 

Give the Nodal Officer a reasonable amount of time say 15 days to revert to you. In case  the bank/Nodal Officer fails to respond or the response does not satisfy you, after a period of 30 days from the date of your complaint, you  may take up the matter with the Banking Ombudsman.  For address of the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Area of Operation (jurisdiction) and the procedure for lodging complaint, you may access the website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/
