On  (27-11-2015) we went to bank nellore branch near railway station. we completed all the formalities for the cancellation and counter 4 employee did cancellation process and sent to another counter for cash return. but he did not gave us money and he gave much of trouble to us and the employee of counter 4 that he will not return money but transfer that money to our account. my husband waited for a long time and he went to both of these employees many times. but no use so my husband got angry and left that dd with these employees and returned home. now how can we get that money.

Dear Sujana

As per banking practice, when a DD is to be cancelled, the amount would be transferred into the account, from where it was made.  In rare instances, subject to IT and bank guidelines, cash can be paid, if the DD amount is less than Rs.20000/-.  Getting angry and leaving the DD with the bank is not appropriate.  Please do visit the bank branch again and get the amount transferred into your account, which is in order.  After all, it is your money.
