Dear Madam, Am Shimna  Joseph holding NRE account had sent Rs.95000/- from Saudi Arabia on 14/12/2015 to my father's account Joseph A V.  But i wrongly gave the account (17 digit) instead of (16 digit). And till this date it is not credited to the a/c or returned to my ksa acount . Kindly find the attached acknowledgement.the reference number of my transaction from ksa is NCBK82815348BPUY.I request you to kindly lookup the matter and do the needful at the earliest.

Hi Shimna,

Why did you wait for more than 1 month ?

When the Payee (receiver) account number information is wrong, A) Either the amount is returned back to the sending Bank (in this case, your overseas Bank) or B) the amount is kept in the received Bank's (in this case, your father's Bank) Sundry deposit account for lack of  pertinent information.Please follow the below steps marking a copy to the email id of your father, who in turn can follow up with his Bank :-

1.    Go to your father's Bank’s website and search for grievance redressal (or similar name) button and submit your complaint online furnishing the details.

2.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

3.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days from the Nodal officer, lodge your complaint with the Principal Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

4.     If you are still not satisfied with the reply / do not receive reply from the Principal Nodal officer within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Banking Ombudsman (either through letter or email)
