My self Dhiraj Ambapkar, would like to complaint against recovery agents of your bank, they are calling from the landline number 022-49224112 to my Office direct line numbers randomly and using harsh language and are harassing the office staff. the name of the Agent is Mr. Durgesh to whom i spoke and tried to negotiate to settle my credit card dues which are 10 years old. They are not ready to negotiate and asking me to pay the dues along with the interest of 10 years. I asked them to send me the outstanding statement and some proof that they are calling on behalf of your bank, but they are not ready to provide any documents. Request you to take action against them, they said their office is at Andheri East, MIDC.

Dear Dhiraj,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

It is natural for banks to follow up for recovery of dues. However, no one has given authority to bank officials and  for that matter, the agents appointed by banks to use abusive or derogatory language during  follow up for  recovery. Not the least, making calls to bosses or employers with deliberate intention to hurt the borrower.  You have the right to protest for such unbecoming behaviour and attitude. Given the nature of your complaint, I suggest you to write to the Nodal Officer of your  bank, narrating the sequence of events,  through email or letter. You can find out the details of the Nodal Officer from the bank’s website.

If the bank is unapologetic, you can lodge a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman. For address of the Office of the Banking Ombudsman, Area of Operation (jurisdiction) and the procedure for lodging complaint, you may access the website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/

Regards
