Was booking a train ticket from the irctc portal. And although I did get the ticket, my account was debited twice for the single purchase which I found out when I received the SMS confirmation. This happened today i.e. 10/09/2015. My debit card no used for the said transaction was  the amount being 546.85

Hi Juga,

Sometimes it happens due to server problem and usually the extra debited amount is refunded next day. If your account has not received back the refund amount till date, please follow the following steps :-

  1. Go to your Bank’s website and search for grievance redressal (or similar name) button and submit your complaint online.
  2. If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)
  3. If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days from the Nodal officer, lodge your complaint with the Principal Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)
  4.  If you are still not satisfied with the reply / do not receive reply from the Principal Nodal officer within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Banking Ombudsman (either through letter or email)

As regards double debit, it is wuite possible that credit would come back to your
account in couple of working days time. If that doesn't happen, you may take up the
issue with nodal officer - grievances whose coordinates would be available on the
Bank's website. Please do not share any personal details while communicating with
anyone.

Thanks and regards

Deepak
