Dear Seelan

Please note that when accounts are transferred from one branch to another, the CIF number remains the same would not undergo a change.  This is as per RBI guidelines to retain a single identity for one particular customer across the same bank.  And there should not be any disturbance / difficulty to you, just because the CIF is unchanged.  The only way out is to open an account with a different bank, if you are bent upon having a separate CIF, for whatever reason you are looking for.
