Atm transaction declined but money debited?

I tried withdrawing money from ATM(begumpet, syamalal building, hyderabad)
transaction declined message seen on atm machine.
the same i received in receipt as transaction declined.
but i received message from your bank that 1500/-rupees debited from my account.
please return my money back in my account

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed and managed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any complain/query/grievance in respect of financial services. This site does not belong to any Bank or a regulator, which may please be noted.

In normal course, if the amount is not dispensed by the ATM, it gets auto-reversed in 24 hours.  If the same has not happened so far, please get in touch with your home branch officials / manager and handover a written complaint under acknowledgement.  If the branch is not responding to your satisfaction, do further complain to the Nodal Officer of the bank, whose coordinates would be available on their website.  In the absence of response from the N.O., you may contemplate to take it up with the Banking Ombudsman, by visiting their website https://bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in/.
