Transaction problem while purchase some items from Great Eastern Trading Company?

Dear Sir/Ma'am, Today i have purchased some items from Great Eastern Trading company Barrack pore and try to pay the amount Rs 6036/- through my bank debit card but unfortunately its denied due to server error . Two times i have tried to make the payment but the same problem . Then after sometime i have received sms that the amount has debited from my account in two times . Rs 6036X2=12072 . Then i spoke with the Great Eastern company and they said there was a transaction problem due to server problem and it will credited within 24 hrs . Now my question how long it will take to resolve the issue . Please let me know . Regards Saikat Halder Date of Incident : 17/10/15

Mr Saikat,

At the outset, let me clarify that this site is designed by a group of Senior Banking Professionals to assist Bank Customers at large to provide guidance for resolution of any query / complaint / grievance in respect of financial services.  This site does not belong to any Bank or a Regulator, which may please be noted. 

Normally, EDC machine unsuccessful transactions are credited back within two working days. You may lodge an email complain with the merchant as well as with the Bank. If you do not refund amount credited in your card account, you may escalate the matter to nodal officer - grievances whose coordinates (contact) would be available on the Bank's website. If you do not get satisfactory response from the Bank within a reasonable period, you may approach Banking Ombudsman/Consumer Forum for resolution of your grievance.
