asked Oct 18, 2015 in ATM Card by Vishal Prabhakar

Sir, I paid a sum of Rs. 1900- on account of purchasing stationary through my above ATM/Rupay card but i was shocked to receive two messages for the same above transaction. I first contacted the above shop keeper, who showed me his bank/swape machine statement wherein it was mentioned that the amount of Rs. 1900/- has een credited to his account once only. I then contacted my home branch and submitted an application to make an early refund of Rs. 1900/- in my above bank account at the earliest through diary No. 65 dated 17/10/05. As such, it is requested to make a refund of Rs. 1900/- at the earlist and oblige. Thanking you. Yours sincerely, Vishal Parbhakar.

Dear Vishal

At times, due to technical issues, the same message gets duplicated and two SMSs might get generated.  This could be one such instance.  Please check your account, may be online / through mini statement / from bank officials, whether your account got debited twice or only once.  If your account is debited twice, then handover a written complaint to the bank officials seeking reversal of the additional debit.  If the branch/bank is not responding to your satisfaction, you may as well complain to their management and the process is as follows.

1.    Go to your Bank’s website and search for grievance redressal (or similar name) button and submit your complaint online.

2.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

3.    If you do not receive any reply / satisfactory reply within 10 days from the Nodal officer, lodge your complaint with the Principal Nodal officer of the Bank (either through email or letter)

4.     If you are still not satisfied with the reply / do not receive reply from the Principal Nodal officer within 10 days, lodge your complaint with the Banking Ombudsman (either through letter or email)
